Meet Our Augusta Team

The Leadership Team at Zysk Recovery Partners, Augusta, Maine.

Executive Director

Ron Smith, LADC, CCS

My name is Ronald Smith, and I am a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor and a Clinical Supervisor. I have been involved in, and working in, the substance use disorder profession for 30 years.

I have been fortunate to have been trained by skilled and naturally talented mentors and teachers in my career. I have worked for several reputable organizations and have acquired
skills for consulting and building treatment programs that have demonstrated high statistical successes for the goals set out by the organizations and the clients it serves. I have had the honor of working with folks with addiction/behavioral and cognitive issues. I have a wide variety of treatment modalities that I have worked with over those years from Detoxification units to Residential treatment services, to IOP and Outpatient and individual counseling to our current up-to-date Harm Reduction models. Being in recovery myself, and having years of experience in the field, I can attest to the strongest models of treatment for sustained recovery and/or abstinence being those models that offer peer and/or family orientated integration and a “community as method” approach in their agencies and sober homes. I have worked with a variety of populations from coed environments from the early addiction stage SUD clients to late stage/extended care and criminal justice clients. Through the years, I have found a passion for working with these populations and assisting clients in arresting their addiction with the hope of placing it in permanent remission. I have conducted a wide array of techniques and skill sets and feel most comfortable with approaches that delve into childhood and family of origin issues and CBT therapy. I am a firm believer that substance use remains a symptom of the problems our clients suffer with daily.

Chief Administration Officer

Josh Stover, ADCA

My name is Josh. I have been a lifelong resident of Maine, growing up in the Boothbay Region and relocating to the capital area two years ago. That is when my journey of recovery really began, with the support of an incredible counselor who I now consider my mentor. I’ve not only reclaimed my life but also discovered a profound passion for helping others in their own recovery.

I’m currently enrolled in the University of Maine’s Mental Health and Human Services degree program, I am dedicated to becoming a substance abuse counselor. My goal is to use my experiences to guide and support others on their path to recovery, turning my challenges into opportunities for positive change.

Outside of my academic pursuits, I cherish every moment spent with my son. We share a love for the outdoors, often embarking on hiking and fishing adventures. When the weather keeps us indoors, we dive into our shared geeky interests, playing video games and indulging in sci-fi movies. These experiences, both challenging and joyful, have shaped me into someone who values resilience, compassion, integrity, and the pursuit of a purpose-driven life.

Lorrie Roberts, LADC, CCS

Hi, my name is Lorrie Roberts. I bring to the table 30 years of working in the field of mental health and substance use. I've worked in a number of different environments, including Mental Health Centers, Prison and jails, Drug Court, Medication Assisted Treatment, Assertive Community Treatment teams and Riverview Psychiatric Center. Program Manager

Casey Nadeau, ADCA

Hi everyone. My name is Casey I am the Program Manager as well as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor Aide at Zysk Recovery Partners. I have two years of experience working in recovery and Therapeutic Community. I enjoy working with people in early recovery and providing support to those learning about the TC.

I am also a second year student at University of Maine working towards my MHRT-C, CADC, and associates in Mental Health and Human Services. When I am not working or studying I spend time with my family, trying new recipes, or reading. As person in long term recovery myself my goals are to use my own lived experience and recovery journey to empower and support others.

Senior Clinician

Phoenix Jett, CADC

I hold a bachelor’s degree in Mental Health and Human Services, as well as a second bachelor’s degree in psychology with a focus on Advanced Addictions, both of which I earned Summa Cum Laude. I currently hold certifications as a CADC and MHTRC.

Over the past decade, I have worked as a community case manager, served in Child Protective Services, and contributed to substance abuse treatment programs. Additionally, I have facilitated Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) and participated in harm reduction initiatives.

My dedication to supporting and advocating for the LGBTQ community is evident through over ten years of volunteering with LGBTQ youth outreach programs. This work has been a cornerstone of my career, and I am passionate about creating inclusive, affirming spaces for all individuals.

I have a strong passion for serving those suffering from addiction issues. I believe that adverse childhood experiences play a significant role in the development of substance use disorders. I firmly believe in the transformative power of therapeutic communities for addiction recovery. These structured, supportive environments foster personal growth and social reintegration, allowing individuals to heal through peer support and holistic care. By embracing the community as a method, we can create lasting change and help individuals reclaim their lives.

As humans, our natural inclination is to connect with others, for better or worse. By fostering healthy relationships, individuals can heal from trauma, substance use, and mental health challenges. Just like a seed that needs care and nurturing to flourish, recovery requires support, patience, and dedication.
